The Huawei Reign Coming to an End?
Huawei might have to face almost 40-60% drop in sales in the International Market due to the trade ban it is facing from the US. The trade ban that has caused Huawei not to be able to do business with companies like Google, ARM, Qualcomm, etc. might drastically affect the sales of the brand which was all set to be the on the top sellers of phones this year.
Though the US was not the largest or even an active market for Huawei phones, the deal with the brands was essential for the brand. Also, it has created the perception that Huawei would not be able to provide complete support to its customers. So, a lot of retailers are lessening their orders, and some are even canceling it.
Europe is the market that Huawei is trying to penetrate into right now, but this ban came off as a big blow to them. Some French carriers have decided not to do any deal with the company. In other countries, they are getting lesser orders than expected.
Though, the scenario is completely opposite in its home ground, China. The sales of the latest release by the company (Honor 20) tells an entirely different story. It has sold a million units within just 2 weeks of the release. It is expected that they will be able to grab almost half of the market share in China, which is almost twice than that of the previous year. It would also help them to make up for the sales drop to a certain extent. Nothing is sure right now, though. We still have to wait for some more time to understand what the company will have to face ultimately.
