It’s with a heavy heart that I am selling Tesla. All of it, our Model S, our reservation for a Model 3, and our TSLA stock. Recently I have had the most frustrating and infuriating service experience trying to get resolution to a problem that Tesla’s own service center did to our car. Our car was rendered un-driveable for nearly three weeks. The entire episode is not that mistakes don’t happen in servicing automobiles, but how Tesla’s service organization is not prepared to offer any level of service for customers. Period.
After bricking our car after a routine service appointment for tire sensors and a slight bumper repair, other than by scheduling another appointment a month later on the Tesla App, there is no possible way to contact the company. I would even be satisfied with a near-human ai powered robot! Sure I could have (maybe) driven the car to the service center and thrown a tire through the window (ala Discount Tire). Would it have been effective?, probably not. The problem is not the overworked service employees who are under-resourced and over worked, but in how management has staffed this incredibly important, but crucial element of their business. As a shareholder, this is unacceptable.
In the wistful early days of Tesla, it was service that set the company apart. The Signature Model S had bugs, and plenty of them, and the fit and finish on our car was not perfect, but we felt we were doing something amazing together. The roadster was an amazing handbuilt go-cart, and we visited the service center more than a few times. We had a single number to call, and an actual english speaking human person talked to us who was concurrently logged into our car to view error codes and service alerts. Sigh, those were the days. The same days I would fanboy Tesla, hand out cards to prospects and talk about the electric future. I think we helped close a lot of early sales for Tesla because we said good things and believed it.
So it’s with a sad heart, that I throw in the towel. I’ve lost faith and I am so very disappointed. ModelS Tesla TeslaMotors customerservicefail
