Muito encontrada em Cabo Frio 🇺🇲 The Monacanthidae is a family of marine odd swimmers, easily identifiable by the spine crowning their heads. The species in the photo is quite common in Cabo Frio, Brazil The 🐟: 📖Cantherhines pullus 🇧🇷Porquinho-de-pinta-laranja 🇺🇲 Orangespotted filefish cantherhinespullus Orangespottedfilefish porquinhodepintalaranja Shot with sonyalpha 6500, with 16-50mm lens, inside aquaticadigital Housing and Sea and Sea strobes. FOLLOW ME • • I find every photographer has a style. Yes, many of us show diversity in our work, but there tends to be a trend or style in each photographers work. My style is dramatic portraiture of marine-life and I do everything in my power to avoid people in my shots. I try to capture the personality, behaviour and journey of each individual animal. This particular dive was a slow start for sharks, which resulted in me getting creative and going outside my comfort zone. This is Josh and he’s an incredible DM and always up for whatever crazy dives you want to do. I nearly got kicked in the face for this shot and the one that came just a moment before it, but I really like it and it’s different than what I normally shoot. • • Here there are a few oceanic black tip sharks and the silhouette of another diver in the background. • • Rocking maresjustaddwater freediving fins for extra propulsion on that bait line. The Cenotes in Mexico are an underwater photographers dream. The crystal clear water creates a feeling of almost infinite visibility, combine this with dancing laser beams of light piercing down through the holes above and you get a light show like no other. I often use silhouettes of people in my photographs to add a human element and create a sense of scale within the frame. This image was taken in El Pit Cenote which is without doubt, one of the most famous cenotes in the world Photo by GrantThomasPhotography diving scuba TOATakeover underwater scubadiving gopro ocean padi diver underwaterphotography nature fish travel scubadive ikelite paditv freedive freediving canon liveforthestory water uwphotography scuba love mares teamtokina wetpixelgram photooftheday justaddwater

The smooth trunkfish (Lactophrys triqueter) is the most common boxfish on Curacao. The maximum body legth can be 47 centimeter, but about 20 centimeter is a normal size. Females that have just shed their shells send out a pheromone to let the males know they’re in the 'mood'. Usually, lobsters that shed their shells are vulnerable and could be eaten by other lobsters, but when a female says she’s ready to get it on, the male lobster will usually opt to have sex with her over killing her Sooooo smart 😁😁😁 For more fish facts follow me thomasvanpuymbroeck wildlifeaddicts uwphotography scuba bg_underwater underwatermagazine underwaterphoto duiken tauchen underwatershots natgeo padi uwphotographer getolympus scubadiving uwlife underwaterphotography duikeninbeeld olympus myolympus uwphoto mares uwpics olympusbe earthcapture kings_underwater yesbbcearth scubashooters justaddwater underwaterpics olympusuk olympuscameras paditv paditravel olympusfrance olympusuk maresjustaddwater bbcearth olympusbelux getolympus wnfnederland natgeonl projectaware uwphotosociety microfourthirdsgallery thephotosociety olympussverige ocean_magazine

Octopus vulgaris. Inky black water surrounds me as I lay floating, looming clouds above part exposing a moonless night, stars now dance in the ripples of the ocean, I steady my breathing, it’s time to dive. A final glance, then darkness. My favourite time to dive is at night, no question about it, I love the fear it can induce. On this particular occasion, I couldn’t shake the feeling something was watching me and had started following me. Paranoid I turned off my torch and waited. After a minute I fired off a shot into the darkness below me, flash enabled. Low and behold a tentacle wielding demon with obsidian eyes peered right into my soul. Now if you’ve not been on a night dive, change that, they’re full of surprises and you soon realise the scariest thing in the sea is you. The connection with nature has been severed, let’s reconnect. ocean seagrass ThroughTheLens oceanlove underthesea underwater uwphotography scubadiving underwaterphotography sealife marinelife scuba ignature oceanlife marinebiology marvelshots saveouroceans naturephotography naturfotografie nature wildlifephotography natureaddict red green explore_wildlife_ canon Spain

With every new dive spot comes the inevitable hierarchy of what's my favorite species. While for the most part, I consider myself a turtle girl, here on the Pacific coast of mexico with dive_zihuatanejo this blue and white spotted wonder takes the trophy. 🐡🐡🐡🐡🐡 As you can probably tell by their chunky body, guineafowls are poor swimmers easily caught by predators. It's only thanks to their pufferfish superpowers, that these guys when threatened, can swallow water and inflate their bodies to several times its normal size. Pair that with poisonous toxins from a symbiotic bacteria living inside their body, and you won't find them at the top of any big fish's dinner menu.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ scubadiving divebuddies pufferfish uwphotography zihuatanejo

Everything awesome lies on the other side of fear. I've never been a gambling person, but I've realized that fear of the unknown is what paralyzes us and keeps us from chasing what's really meant for us. I'm ready for another chapter.
