Visit the Kaokoveld, Kunene River & Caprivi. What a breathtaking trip!
The northern part of Namibia is most well known for the Kunene River and Epupa Falls (meaning “ falling water” in the Herero language). The river forms the border between Namibia and Angola and offers fascinating opportunities for nature walks and boating. It’s also home to the beautiful semi –nomadic Himba Tribe of the Kaokoveld. Its an interesting area also for 4x4 enthusiasts and a number of beautiful secluded lodges provide accommodationon the banks of the Kunene River where you can truly relax and forget the stress of the developed world.
To the East stretch a peculiar 450 kms narrow strip of land bordering Botswana and the Chobe River to Zimbabwe, popularly known as the Caprivi Strip (renamed to Zambezi in 2013) linking up with Botswana to the south, Angola and Zambia to the north, and ending near Zimbabwe’s northwest corner and the Zambezi river. It is one of very few areas where elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, lion, leopard, sable, roan, kudu, sitatunga, lechwe and even gemsbok and about 450 bird species might be seen denonanjesafaris weshapeyourjourney namibia epupafalls
