Wheel pose (Chakrasana)
In Sanskrit “Chakra” means wheel and “asana” mean pose
It is popular in many forms of yoga and is part of the primary series of Ashtanga yoga. As well as being a back bend, chakrasana is seen in yoga as a heart opening posture and is thought to work on the heart chakra
⭐️A backbend and is the first pose of the finishing sequence in Ashtanga.
⭐️Is also refered to as urdhva dhanurasana, which means upward-facing bow pose.
⭐️The heart opening effects of the posture can help release emotional disturbances and balance the energy centre. ⭐️Chakrasana is mentioned very early on in ancient yogic texts. It was one of the 84 asanas of Lord Shiva’s classic yoga, referenced in the "Hatha Ratnavali" around 1600 C.E.
⭐️An advanced back bend Asana.
⭐️builds confidence and puts the energy’s of the body at ease.
⭐️Strengthens the arms, shoulders, chest, lower back, legs, feet and neck.
⭐️lift into full wheel, straighten arms and legs, lift hips high, expand chest, let head hang heavy hold and breath, come down gently.
⭐️place hands by ears, hug elbows in tight towards midline, turn big toes turned inwards, INHALE and press the earth away.keep your knees inwards towards each other.relax your neck and head towards the ground.EXHALE lower down to ground slowly, with your head first
