I never want to be negative because I know I’m in a better place. It has taken a lot to get to this place, but I’m here now & I’m never going to let anyone take it away from me. As sad & as heartbreaking as the journey sometimes was, it was also amusing. To listen to people talk about nothing the knew about it. To offer advice to situations they never knew the entire truth about. To tell you just how much of a sh*t person who sometimes were because of choices. I had to laugh otherwise, I’d cry. Onwards & upwards! 🔛🔝🎶🎵💋 - Posted withrepostf.a.s.t1 heartbrokengirl ex ifmywoundswerevisible healingfromabuse divorce domesticviolence narcissisticabusesurvivor narcopathsurvivor narcopathfree sociopathsurvivor emotionalabuseisstillabuse abusiverelationship toxicrelationships narcex domesticabusesurvivor divorcedwoman divorcerecovery ptsdsurvivor speakup yourstorymatters women womenempowerment sistersquad sisterhood womenpower girlpower divorcesupport muslim femaleempowerment ptsd

Xiomara’s Writer’s Note: The pre-Edinburgh preparations are on the way, but it’s back to doing a lot of admin stuffagain. Sending artwork for approval, figuring out how to transport the props and readjusting the cue sheet are all part of it. As far as the script goes, not much is changing except a few tweaks here and there. I really wish we could have an extra month to solve some unprecedented hiccups, but it is what it is and we work better under pressure (and currently we’re at around 15700 psi, for all you divers out there). “I remember I was 19 & in the first year of college–I was excited to start a career, but my family decided to get me married. In my community, girls were not encouraged to be independent. My husband was the youngest, so I had a lot of elders to take care of. There used to be so much work & within a few years, both my were born. I’d be devoted to them & the house all day & by the time it ended, I’d be exhausted. Amidst this, I began designing cotton Hijabs, for my daughter. One day at the mosque, she was wearing one of my designs, when a lady complimented the design & asked me to make one for her ! Soon, through word of mouth, people began approaching me. The orders increased so much, that I earned enough to be financially stable. I even contributed to my ’ pocket money. Through it all, my husband was my pillar of strength. He’d come with me to buy fabric & manage my finances! But my relatives weren’t supportive. I remember one of them ordered a dress for her daughter. I put so much hard work into it, but they said I didn’t do a good job. I didn’t let that deter me–I’d finally found my place & I wasn’t going to let it go. Soon after, I got to know that the shop I used to get fabrics from was shutting down. I saw an opportunity & asked my husband if we could buy the shop and take care of it. He agreed, but not my . They didn’t think I’d be okay, out there in the world, all alone. People even questioned my husband, on why he was wasting so much money. But he never hesitated. We took the plunge & bought the shop–it’s been 2.5 years since. I stand in the shop alone & deal with customers everyday. In fact, because I’m out the whole day, my daughter-in-law takes care of the household now & all my support me! I began my business when I was 50 & I’m doing everything in my power to be more successful. My most gratifying moment was when I was able to contribute to my daughters foreign education. It was her biggest dream! It’s moments like these that drive me to push the roadblocks away. I’m lucky to have a husband & a family that lifts me up & makes me feel like I’m capable of anything. I’ll do everything it takes to make myself & them proud.”

My personal identity has always been deeply entwined with my love of space and science, and my commitment to advancing humanity's footprint in the solar system I always knew I wanted to balance that with a family one day, but I've learned that there's really no such thing as work-life "balance" in my world- it's really more about work-life integration That reality hit home the very same day I discovered I was pregnant: I had to disclose my medical condition and give up my seat on an upcoming experimental microgravity research flight. The short-term disappoint was of course mitigated by overwhelming joy, and I ended up returning to flight training a few months after giving birth to my daughter, Delta V. I guarantee I was the only candidate wearing Spanx underneath their flight suit Being a mom is magical, but my career and my work remains important to me, and I've often had to make sacrifices on both sides. Occasionally that means I've missed out on special moments while I was away, like my daughter's first steps. It's hard not to feel guilty in those moments, and I had to remind myself that I would get to celebrate that milestone with her as soon as I got home One of my favorite memories, though, was bringing my newborn to the SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch - a historic moment that I wanted to share with my family. When the sound barrier broke over my daughter's head, I realized that she has been born exactly at the beginning of a new era in space exploration, with so many people working together toward a shared dream of expanding humanity's footprint in the universe - a dream that my daughter's generation will most certainly see realized. I had never felt more motivated and inspired The truth is that I wouldn't be "me" without my work - my career adds a dimension to my life that makes me feel personally and professionally fulfilled, and ultimately allows me to be the best version of myself for my daughter. I'm still figuring out the balance, but we tackle it together as a family Kellie kelliegerardi

Wanting to be successful in anything causes you to grow, and with growth comes some hard realizations. • • At the end of every month, I look back and reflect. What did I learn? How did I grow? What will I do differently next month? Whether it’s in my business, my relationship with the Lord, my relationship with my family or my relationship with myself, there’s always something to be learned and something to be gained. • • I’ve become this strong independent person who’s not afraid to stand up for herself and not afraid to walk away. I didn’t realize just how much until it was put to the test numerous times. My confidence and self-respect have pushed some people away and I make no apologies for that. I’m proud of how strong I am! When you learn to love yourself, you value the work and dedication you put in, and you’re not afraid to let those with a different mindset walk right out of your life. • • It’s not arrogance or a weakness to walk away from things that don’t bring you peace, it’s self-love. ✌🏽 — lovethyself shine loveyourself leadershipdevelopment leadbyexample savedbyhisgrace womeninbusiness womenempowerment believeinyourself womenhelpingwomen businessminded successfulwomen successquotes investinyourself summervibes ootd

Last chance. It is free, (by donation which goes back into the choir) but you must book your selves in to become a SongBird. Message me to Book your place. Do it now people! We are a bunch of women and our . We sing. We sing harmonies. We also learn to find our own harmonies. We sing pop songs and iconic rock songs which are all fabulously fun. We sing deep chants in circle and sometimes talk about the emotions that that brings up. We let go. We learn to find our true voiceIn doing so our spirit grows. We listen deeply. We learn to feel the vibrations we are creating. We learn to accept what is. We show all of this to our by example. We sometimes sound really really good. We sometimes don’t. We learn to be okay with that and learn to accept and grow and change why. We learn to breathe freely. We learn to open. We have a deep love affair with music. We hold a joyful and focused hour together. If you can talk you can sing. Easy as that. Yes some of us have trained voices and yes some of us don’t and yes you are ALL welcome here. Watxh out for the article on chakai coming soon. I am enough, I am beautiful. Here is pic form the shoot. I am owning my awesomeness. Today, I am pausing to celebrate the journey of this once broken woman, who owned her story and made a decision to change her own path. I am never going to be perfect, every scar on my body has its own story -but those scars are what make me so epic! I won't tame my confidence for anyone to shine, I know the Lord who made me made me a star that will shine brightly, I honor her fight. I honor my grind. I honor my hustle. I honor my struggle. I honor her relentless drive and unapologetic spirit. I honour that my pain gave me this much power. I wear my scars proudly and so should you! empowered

Remember how I told you what a positive experience I had at the Oklahoma NPC bikini show? Well that’s where I first met lynsielove and realized how much we had in common! We both were from Arkansas, neither of us told anyone we were there competing, and we are both so like-minded in our businesses! We have gotten together several times since meeting at that show and realized how much more we have in common. We both would rather spend our time helping others and time in the gym then anything else So why this post? Well she needs your votes for Ms. Health and Fitness! 🌟Why Lynsie? When I met her backstage she was giving me (and others) helpful tips and was so kind! It truly was inspiring to me that someone would go out of their way and that speaks volumes just showing a little bit of kindness and what it can do for others! Being kind is the best trait you can offer and you know what, it doesn’t dim your light to help someone else in your field, it only makes you shine brighter!🌟 •••••••••••••• Support a entrepreneur who generally wants to see competitors succeed and for those who want to seek a lifestyle change! She’s someone’s daughter (could pass for my 3rd) and wouldn’t you want someone to support your very own? •••••••••••••• Link is in my bio to vote (takes less than 5 min) and no one deserves it more than Lynsie! She has so much more she wants to accomplish so VOTE and help her further her business, be featured in a magazine while representing Arkansas!
