We’ve noticed that women in particular lean towards fad beliefs that the last gym or diet wasn’t nearly as effective as you hoped, but this next one will. What is new is noteworthy, or so it would seem. Does jumping from diet to diet, fitness program to fitness program help us focus on the future in small chunks? Does signing up for an 8 week challenge help fitness be more enjoyable and effective? Or, when we reflect on this pattern (of leaning towards what’s shiny) does it tell us a greater story about who we are and what we value? It’s not necessarily the program. It’s not necessarily the coaches. And it’s not necessarily the diet. Though of course these things do matter. In the end it’s the consistency to the cause. Try doing chest press on a fit ball. It will get your core working and is great for adding shoulder strength. If your doing a single arm press, start with your weaker side first and then match the reps of the stronger side. Basically any workout they want to be able to repeat in their own time! ••. Reasons to keep a training diary: ••. ✍️ You can write things in a way that you understand them, the way I say things might be different to you, and you want this to be familiar so that you can immediately follow it ••. 📝 You’re using good old fashioned pen and paper instead of a screen. So much nicer, more effective for your brain to take on board and less chance of distraction ••. ⏰ You’ll always have a collection of workouts to hand. If you record how long things take you can pick and choose depending on how much time you have. ••. ⏱ Make your own notes - track your reps, time or weights used and we can make changes as you go (I.e make it harder when it becomes easier). ••. Now, where are all of the pens in our houses?! 😉😁.

This can be anything from committing to a number of workouts 🏋🏽‍♀️, doing something out of your comfort zone, being successful with your food prep for a full week or even just thinking more positive ☮️ - Then every morning, set yourself 3 goals you’d like to achieve daily. This can be anything from getting a load of washing done, smashing a workout or ticking something off your mental list that’s been on your list for a while. Lentil Soup 1 onion, chopped 1/4 cup olive oil 2 carrots, diced 2 stalks celery, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 bay leaf 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 (400g) can crushed tomatoes 2 cups dry lentils 8 cups water 1/2 cup spinach, rinsed and thinly sliced 2 tablespoons vinegar salt to taste ground black pepper to taste Directions In a large soup pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions, carrots, and celery; cook and stir until onion is tender. Stir in garlic, bay leaf, oregano, and basil; cook for 2 minutes. Stir in lentils, and add water and tomatoes. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for at least 1 hour. When ready to serve stir in spinach, and cook until it wilts.
