BUG-OUT BAG ESSENTIALS. After today's almost 6.0 magnitude earthquake, we thought it's timely to share information about preparing a bug-out bag (BOB). A BOB is a portable kit that normally contains the items one would require to survive for 72 hours for an evac for a disaster, though others are made for longer periods. Here's the basics we've gathered: - Water (at least 3 liters/person/day) - Food (at least 3-day supply of non-perishable foods ex. canned goods; always check for expiry) - Can opener (manual) - Flashlights w/ fresh batteries - Candles & lighter (in a waterproof container) - Battery-operated radio to tune into emergency announcements - Extra batteries - Multipurpose tool (ideally with knife, scissors, screw driver) - First aid kit and personal medications - Mess kit (kahit reusable sporks at tupperware pwede na) - Whistle to signal for help - Power bank & extra wires - Towels (doubles for sanitation and warmth) - Dust mask (to help filter contaminated/dusty air) - Closed toe shoes - Extra set of home & car keys - Cash
Last but not the least, pack some GOOD VIBES and DUCT TAPE! Have these, YOU’RE BULLETPROOF! Stay safe and share away, buddies!
